It’s February 1st – you failed on your goals. Now what?

How to get back on track with your goals

Reach your goalsToday is February 1st, which means an entire month is already complete in 2016.

When you started off the year where did you think you would be today? Did you set resolutions? How about goals?

Have you built up momentum and reached any of them yet? Or maybe it’s more of a long term goal and you’re hustling every day to achieve it in the long run.

When we start out the new year we are full of excitement, feeling like it’s a new beginning, a fresh clean slate to start off with. We’re ready to hit the ground running and make this year our year to finally make that change, or reach that goal that we’ve been wanting to reach for years.

But unless we change the behaviors that we do on a daily basis, we are just as Einstein says, insane and doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result.

So if the first month of 2016 is over and you haven’t created the momentum you want yet, don’t give up just yet. You can still create the shift any time you desire. How? By focusing on these three things:

1. Intention

What is your intention? What is your purpose for wanting this goal? Why do you really want it? If you don’t have a clear intention for your goal, a big enough WHY, then you will not have the drive or motivation to even start. So ask yourself, what will it really give you? Is it better health so you can play freely and have quality time with your kids or grandchildren? Is it a better relationship you want with more love and passion with your partner? Is it financial security you need so that you never have to worry about where your next paycheck is coming from? Or maybe you want to give back to a charity or mission near and dear to your heart? Define your intention and then it will lead you to the next step.

2. Vision

Do you have a clear vision of what you really want? Do you even know what you want? The more defined and clear your vision is in your mind, the easier it will be to achieve it. You will know where you are headed. You don’t get in your car without having a destination right? The same goes for your life. The clarity is in the details. Who do you want to achieve this with? Where are you going to do it? Who are you going to serve with your product or service? Where will you go on your vacations? How often? The more clarity you have in your vision, the more it will pull you, and you won’t need motivation because it’s aligned with your intention. This will then give you the emotional hunger and charge to prepare you for the last step.

3. Feeling

feel successfulIf your intention and your vision do not excite you, then something is off. It’s either in why you are doing it, how you are doing it, or where you are living emotionally. Are you taking care of your emotional space? Are you surrounding yourself with people, activities, environments that positively affect and inspire you? Or are you drowning in negativity, fear, scarcity, and believing you don’t deserve it? You must create from a place of positive and empowering emotions. You must take care of your emotional fitness just as you would your physical fitness or finances, car, home, family, etc. Have a daily practice of living as if you already have what you want. How would you be feeling then? Would you feel loved, grateful, abundant, healthy? You can access those emotions at any time. They are already in you. Practice them daily, feel them in your body, and take the actions you would take coming from that emotional space. Then you will manifest them physically.

If you aren’t getting started and moving forward I can pretty much guarantee it’s because you are not aligned with one of the three steps above and doing them consistently.

You can still make this your year. You can reach the goals you set out for on December 31st. Go through each of the steps and see where you need to align more. And if you need more clarity you can apply for a discovery call with me here.

The past does not equal the future unless you live there. You can transform it any time. Here’s to February!
